The Rainbow Bridge

Remembering our Friends that have passed.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.

Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We will miss you Mr. Bodie... 10/5/13

PictureSir Bentley July 2003 - September 2013
Sir Bentley's Mom agreed to share this beautiful Remembrance:

Your spirit came to me last night as I laid in meditation. My spirit was present as well as my human emotions.. It was surely an experience I hadnt had. My spirit and yours vibrated at a higher understanding of completion than my humanness could even fathom. I came out of my meditation with very mixed up feelings. When I came to your kennel late last night, to give you your last pill for the day, I could feel my own resistance of being present.. As I opened your kennel this morning and fed you your last meal, you finished and began coughing. I tried to make you comfortable as I held your body barely able to breathe.. i felt ure spirit and mine again and yet i also felt my human selfishness and your undying dedication to me, as your owner/mom/friend..and although, as I held you, I said to you that it was okay to pass over, your listless head snuggled my arm and you grabbed my hand with a tightened leg and paw.. You didnt wanna let me down.. so you breathed ...so very labored and shallow.. And a moment passed as I realized this.. and I thanked you for your undying friendship and compassion. Many of nights Id talked with you, expressing my deep hurt about how those kind of relationships were not in my life and how very much of a void I felt from the lack of such.. You listened so contently throughout the years.. Waiting for the perfect and divine timing, in which to SHOW me, how very wrong I was about my belief, in that Id not experinced such an undying and dedicated relationship before..

As that moment came today, I spoke to you of how very much I loved you, thanked you, and did not want you to hold on and suffer because of my selfish reasons.. and that Id be okay. As I took you into the vet, we had a moment where I put your face to mine.. One last Bentley kiss for mommy..and the pain went away for you shortly after. I held you as you left .. and as I shut your eyes, there our spirits were present again.. above the room..around the room. St Francis came and your spirit soared away with his guidance and under his wing.. Bless you friend, and thank you for so much. Youve taught me and shown me, up until ure very last breath, how I have experienced and felt undying and forever love..and how pure and whole it really is. Be free my baby boy.. I wont ever forget you. You will always live on in my heart...and some day, we shall meet again. Until then, be at peace and run with the big dogs!!!

RIP Bentley 7/03 - 9/13
